Oh, Scott

I was cleaning up and found a school paper of Scott's. He had to write sentences with his spelling words. A few examples:
"We sneak pop every time our parents aren't looking."
WHAT?
"My dad feeds our dog bacon grease."
Uh, Scott, you don't have to share EVERYTHING! That kid could be dangerous. I had a really good, long-overdue laugh:)

Chewie

When Dallin was little, we called him Chewie because he used to love the commercial for granola bars that sang, "chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy" and he'd dance to it. Now that he's taller than me, we have a new reason for calling him Chewie:) Good JOB, number 10!! He scored 13 points last night. Yes, Allison, that's Sedgwick:)

Michael's Turn

It was finally Michael's turn for the REAL Pinewood Derby:) He's been workin on this car since mid-December. He loves yellow, so the color was not even up for debate. We found this cool "skin" at a hobby store. Kinda cool. Michael really liked the picture of a roadster, so that's what he went after in his design. He had a lot of fun racin with his friends. Good job, Michael!

Entrepreneurship

Dallin's on his road to Eagle. He went to his first Merit badge clinic last month and began his first 3 merit badges. One was Entrepreneurship. I was kind of nervous about that one. I didn't know how an 11 year old could start a business and actually prove that it was up and running. He has to have receipts, plans, etc. So, he came up with selling firewood. Kinda a no brainer with all the wood we have available:) He started with a bunch of wood that came down at my parents' house during the last storm. He loves chopping wood. He'll go at it for hours! Before long, he had a cord. He sold it and got a contract for 2 more!!! WOW! This could be a great way for he and his brothers to earn mission\college money. Plus, it is a great workout:) With his first check, he made payroll, bought his own splitting maul, paid tithing, and put away the rest in his CD. Cool!

Pinewood Derby...sort of...

The Young Men in our ward decided to have their own version of a Pinewood Derby. They made a few rules...including a weight limit of 5 POUNDS!!! Can you guess which one was Dallin's? It even said "Big D" on the back of that tricked out truck:) That thing was heavy. He had fun making it, though. He had to do all the work on it...it was good for him.

About Me

My photo
I am a mom to three wonderful boys. My DH worked hard to allow me to stay home and raise these lil' guys for almost 11 years. I am now working at a local hospital as an inpatient pharmacy technician. This is a new adventure for me. I hope I can balance everything out. In my "spare" time, I love to scrapbook the memories we are making.
