CUB Scouts

So, now I have 2 boys that go to day camp....that means 2 days spent at the camp with a bunch of rowdy boys! Whew! Those were LONG days. At least it wasn't hot this year. This park has NO shade and it gets swelterin' if the sun comes out. This was Scott's first year, so it was really fun watching him get to do all the "boy" stuff. He even got 21 bullseye beads! Not that he gets any practice at home or anything:) Michael loved what they made in woodworking: a bench, a parascope, a canon, ....really great stuff this year. Same ol' lady was running the cooking booth, though. She's been there since my brothers were cubs. Grumpy as ever...good thing the kids were oblivious.

Webelos Camp

Michael got to go to Scout camp this week. It was really nicely organized for once. It wasn't too bad volunteering :) Michael has some really nice friends and has loved all the woodworking and archery:) He said they even gutted fish. Uh, a tad bit too outdoorsy for me. bleh. Can't wait to have my boy back home, though.

All Stars is OVER

Boy, it has been a long 4 months of baseball. This was Dallin's last year of little league, so it was fun to watch him play at the top of his game. He did a great job...even gave me a home run for good memories:) I think this sport has taught Dallin some great things that will help him in life. He has had to come out of his shell and talk to others...not very often, but enough. He was nicknamed Caveman:) He reached out with his bare hand to catch a linedrive and then spun around to make a double play at 2nd. He said he didn't have time to use his mitt?! His coach said, "uh, okay Caveman!" and it stuck:) Dallin has also had to have patience and learn new things that were hard to master.

Michael, my All Star

Michael played 1st base when he wasn't pitching. Nice job! No errors on 1st!

He was 2 for 2 in his last game.

What a fun way to end a painful baseball season. It was really tough for Michael this year. He was drafted up into the majors with 11 and 12 year-olds. Needless to say, it was very difficult with a HUGE learning curve. I told him to just hang on and stick through it, but I could tell, it took all he had. He was so surprised to learn that he made All Stars. It was great to play with 10 year-olds! ...Kids his own age don't pitch so darn fast. He did great and really shined. It was a great payoff for all his hard work during regular season.

Dallin's a big boy now...I guess

YIKES. I can feel Dallin's panic of standing next to a girl!!

Walkin' the walk.

Well, Dallin has finished the 6th grade and will be going to junior high next year!!! I am trying to be positive in front of him, but inside I am cringing!!! He didn't even tell me about graduation. I had to find out by accident when I went to the school the day before to drop him off after a doctor appointment. The secretary told me that he had been given an invitation to give us weeks before. Hmmmm. Then she told me that they were to dress up. Ah ha! Dal was NOT happy when he came down in basketball shorts and a t-shirt only to be told to go back up and dress in sunday pants and a nice shirt. Then, when we got there, we found out he was playing the piano to accompany his classmates in singing!!?? What a stinker!! He really doesn't like attention. He did great, though. He had a super year. We are so happy with the new school and his teacher that pushed him. Presidential academic scholar, Top AR reader in 6th grade, peer mediator, and math olympiad. Not too shabby! Now hold on tight for the next few years:)

Silly lil bugger

Scott can't be serious for two seconds in a row. I went to his concert (that I accidentally found out about this morning) tonight. What a clown! Giggle giggle the whole time. I admit, it was a bit painful sitting through it, but ....

Scotty's BIG day

Scotty turned 8 in May. WOW has time flown. He's really growing fast...like his brothers:) I have to shop in the men's shoe section for this guy! Scott is such an active boy, but he does a great job of sitting quietly in church, too. He loves to work with us and build legos. He is one determined lil' guy. I love his smile the most. I love our quiet time we get each night...just us. I love his blue eyes and sweet little notes he writes me.

About Me

My photo
I am a mom to three wonderful boys. My DH worked hard to allow me to stay home and raise these lil' guys for almost 11 years. I am now working at a local hospital as an inpatient pharmacy technician. This is a new adventure for me. I hope I can balance everything out. In my "spare" time, I love to scrapbook the memories we are making.
